Dr. Gutierrez received his Ph.D., in Psychology from the University of Florida (2004) in Behavior Analysis with a focus on individuals with disabilities and autism. Currently, Dr. Gutierrez is an Research Associate Professor and an Associate Director of UM-NSU CARD. Dr. Gutierrez is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D) with experience in the assessment and treatment of severe problem behavior and in the development of adaptive skills for individuals with autism. Dr. Gutierrez's current research interests focus on early intervention and variables related to treatment effectiveness for individuals with autism. Dr. Gutierrez is previously served as the site Co-PI for two federally-funded, multi-site study evaluating a school-based joint attention intervention for children with autism as well as the comparative efficacy of public preschool intervention models for students with autism spectrum disorders.

Dr. Hale received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Florida (2002) with a particular focus on autism spectrum disorders and applied behavior analysis. Prior to graduating, she completed a pre-doctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Department of Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Currently, Dr. Hale serves as the Associate Director of UM-NSU CARD and as the clinical supervisor of the UM Autism Spectrum Assessment Clinic (ASAC). She is a licensed psychologist (Florida) and a doctoral level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D). Through her work with UM-NSU CARD, Dr. Hale provides client and family support, professional trainings, public education, community outreach and programmatic/school consultation on issues related to autism spectrum disorders. At ASAC, Dr. Hale provides training and supervision to psychological trainees (graduate students, pre-doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows) in the provision of diagnostic, treatment and evaluation services.
